Defensive I.T. Security Training
Syrinx Technologies offers training classes designed for systems, network and web server administrators along with security professionals to identify common security vulnerabilities and correct them. Eliminating the "low hanging fruit" increases overall security and saves money on 3rd party audits. Each student is taught how to perform self-assessments using tools designed to identify security vulnerabilities in many different areas of the computing environment. Discussions on building in security controls to networks and systems are also held during the courses.
The classes are not desiged to teach the student "how to hack", but rather classes that teach the basics of the tools and most importantly how to defend against them. Each class is broken down into sections and at the end of each section is a hands-on review where the student can practice using the tools on live servers and applications.
DITS101
The class is taught in two formats: A one-day class that teaches the basics of the "low hanging fruit", and a 3-day class that covers a wide array of topics. The one-day class focuses on the top security issues and provides a fast-paced approach to discovering the most common and most damaging vulnerabilities. The three-day class provides a more comprehensive, structured and in-depth analysis of many of the tools used by attackers in today's computing environment. Attendees of either class receive a free copy of the article, "In Search of Low-Hanging Fruit: Improving Security and Privacy with Penetration Testing", written by the class instructor.
